Estimating Roundabout Construction Costs

Description:

Many agencies and contractors have never estimated or build a roundabout. This research would evaluate and provide data to show actual project and construction costs. Cost estimates are needed for design, construction, inspections, administration. Construction elements should be broken down to curbing, paving, drainage, materials, techniques, controls, phasing, and traffic controls. Type of roundabouts needs to be a consideration as mini's and multi-lane roundabout differ in construction requirements,

Objective:

improving information available to agencies and their contractors. Lowering of risks for inaccurate construction estimates. Lower risks for contractors and therefore a lower risk factor in their estimates. More accurate project planning and budgeting.
